This was the first year the Chesnut men decided to try muzzle loading, and the only hunt we could all agree on was spike elk as it fell on a weekend other then conference weekend where we could get away and not feel guilty with missing conference. The elk was nowhere to be found but Rick and I found a new kind of muzzle load hunting...Grouse hunting with muzzle loaders...and I must say we were pretty darn good!
We did find some time to enjoy each others company and enjoy the warm sun for a few hours. I don't think we hunted real hard but it is always fun to get out with family and enjoy the outdoors.
